Dog Scouts of America - Pennsylvania Troop #158Educating responsible dog owners about the necessity of raising a good canine citizen & benefits of the camaraderie, keeping dogs out of shelters & people safe, evoking a more balanced & compassionate society. Join us to:
Raising a good canine citizen is common sense, once you learn how dogs communicate! Troop 158 is dedicated to the mission of Dog Scouts of America which includes a grassroots effort to create better relationships between dogs and owners everywhere by setting a good example of positive behavior management, continuing education, fun dog friendly activities and whatever other means are available to help further the understanding and respect for the dog/human bond and minimize the hundreds of thousands of dogs being sent to shelters because no one has ever figured out how to effectively communicate with them by rewarding appropriate behaviors to elicit desired and acceptable behavior. Dogs are not born with human manners, their responsible attentive "parent" must find a way to motivate him to learn and begin to understand canine body language while becoming aware of their own (a significantly beneficial skill once achieved). Dog Scouts are to be the catalyst for a culture adjustment where society in general has respect and appreciation for all the creatures that balance this earth. Companion animals offer us one of the most loyal friendships we could ever imagine. We hope all responsible dog owners will help us educate the public by setting a good example and raising the bar.
